Obituary for James Ronald (Ron) Tidwell

James Ronald (Ron) Tidwell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle went to his heavenly home Monday night, June 5, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends. He was a 1960 graduate of LaFollette High School and attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville. He honorably served his country in the US Army for three years. Ron was a faithful member and deacon of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church since 1974, where he served as a deacon, since July 1978, until his health started failing him. He retired as an electrician from BWXT Y-12 and K-25 after 32 1/2 years of service and was a 50 year member of IBEW Local 760, a member of Campbell County Masonic Lodge #778 F & AM, Campbell County Scottish Rite, Campbell County Shrine Club, A & A Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and Kerbella Temple in Knoxville.
Ron's family was everything to him. He and Betty were married for 53 years having three children, Lisa, Keith, and Stephanie and six grandchildren. He loved his family and loved spending time with them as a family. He also had many special friends in his life that he considered family as well. Ron loved people and helping others and all who knew him loved him too. Preceded in death by parents, Charlie & Vivian Stevens Tidwell; sisters, Leona (Oma) Crisp & Sheila Smith

Services 8 PM Wednesday at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church with Masonic Service at 7:45 PM

Interment 10 AM Thursday at Powell Valley Cemetery with Military Honors by Campbell County Honor Guard
Family will receive friends from 6PM to 7:45 PM Wednesday at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church
